Important Information for Music Families Regarding Your New Cut Time Student Account

In prior years, Music Foundation used the CHARMS system to manage Student Accounts and provide communication with parents. Starting in the fall of 2024, all student accounts will be moved to the Cut Time system. This web-based application will house student and parent contact information, track Student Account activity, and send announcements from the Music Foundation to parents and students.

Every music student has an individual student account. This is the record of money you have either paid for music-related expenses (e.g. spring trip or concert attire) or earned through the Music Foundation fundraisers.

How Do You Access the Cut Time System?

All Music Parents/Guardians and Students will receive a Welcome Message from Cut Time that will invite you to login to your student account dashboard.

If we have your cell phone number on file, you will receive a text message from Cut Time (1-844-385-8463). If not, you will receive an email from Cut Time Support.

The message will come to you via a ‘Magic Link’, which is uniquely personalized to you and completely secure. Once you receive the message with your Cut Time Magic Link, you will gain access to your Cut Time Portal Page. Bookmark your dashboard page for future access; no logon id or password is necessary. From the dashboard, you can:

· View Announcements

· Check Fundraising Credits

· Check Assigned Costs & Payments

· View and E-Sign Documents (e.g. Music Handbook)

What Happens if You Hit ‘Stop’ and Opted Out of Cut Time Magic Link Messages by Mistake?

Go back to your last message from Cut Time and reply with ‘UNSTOP’ to resume the messages whenever you want.

Cut Time uses SMS as the primary mode of communication, but you may reply "STOP" to CutTime's phone number(s) to opt out of receiving text messages and designate email as your preferred communication method.
